After many years of working for large companies and financial institutions, I decided to turn my attention towards helping my community and everyday people. I founded Legacy Law with the belief that my friends and neighbors could live each day more confidently if they felt their life’s work and families’ security were well protected.
After graduating from UC Berkeley School of Law in 2004, I moved from California to New York City to work at a major international law firm. Although my primary expertise was in finance law, our firm also handled the estates of some of our high-net worth clients. That experience reinforced my then held misconception that estate planning is only reserved for the ultrarich. It is not.
What may be surprising (and perhaps a bit embarrassing to admit), is that as a lawyer, married to another lawyer, with 4 children, we had no plan in place should something happen to us. I, first-hand, understand how life can get busy and these types of things end up at the bottom of the To Do list. I’m here to help you check this off your list and make this process as easy as possible.
I believe estate planning is not just about finding ways to protect assets from high taxes or determine how funds should be distributed. It is about preparing for your future on your own terms. This includes directing what you want for yourself when you can no longer speak for yourself. And what values you want to impart on your children and grandchildren through the choices you make now.
I look forward to helping you prepare a plan uniquely designed for you and your family, providing peace of mind and keeping your family out of court and conflict.
